Accessibility Statement
The Alzheimer's & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) wants everyone to be able to use adrccares.org, including people with disabilities and older adults. Many of the caregivers we serve are older themselves, so we've designed this site to be easy to read and use.
Last updated: November 5, 2026
Our commitment
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make websites easier to use for people with vision, hearing, movement, memory and learning disabilities.
Accessibility is ongoing work. We review the site regularly and fix problems as we find them.
What we've done
Larger text
Body text is at least 18px, and you can zoom up to 200% without losing content.
Strong color contrast
Text and buttons use colors with enough contrast to read easily.
Keyboard navigation
You can reach menus, links, buttons and forms with a keyboard, and you can see where you are on the page.
Easy-to-tap buttons
Buttons and links are large enough to tap on a phone or tablet.
Alt text on images
Meaningful images have text descriptions for screen readers.
Captions
Videos include captions where available.
Clear structure
Pages use headings, labeled form fields and plain language so they're easier to follow.
Accessibility tools
An accessibility menu (UserWay) lets you adjust text size, spacing and contrast to suit you.
Known limitations
Some older PDFs in our resource library may not be fully accessible to screen readers. Some content from other services, such as embedded videos or donation forms, may also not meet every guideline.
Need something in another format? Just ask. We can provide documents in another format, such as accessible text, large print or a printed copy, or read the information with you over the phone.
