What We Do
Empowering caregivers with knowledge, skills, and support, ADRC
offers support groups, counseling sessions, workshops, referrals,
and various other programs and services, many free to the public.
Since 1984, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) has served as a Central Florida based grassroots nonprofit and community resource center dedicated to providing support and hope for families and individuals caring for a loved one with some form of dementia. ADRC empowers caregivers with the knowledge, support, and programs to help them prepare for and cope with the challenges that lie ahead. Our organization offers a variety of peer support groups, care navigation sessions, educational programs, and wellness events to help caregivers in Central Florida with the day-to-day tasks of caring for their loved ones, as well as maintaining their own health. Please visit our Services pages to learn more.
ADRC offers educational Care Navigation Sessions with family service staff, support groups facilitated by ADRC staff. This is not therapeutic counseling, but rather care navigation as families learn about the disease, cope with the challenges of caregiving, and face the many decisions that arise as the caregiving experience evolves. Navigation is vital in helping families understand the disease and in learning how to manage their caregiving role and provide the best possible care for their loved one.
ADRC’s main service is to caregivers in Central Florida or out-of-state caregivers whose loved ones live in the area. We are not just limited to Florida and will help everyone who contacts us. Our services are free of charge to caregivers. If we don’t provide what you’re looking for, we will help you find someone who does. We are the connector of services and thankful for the great work we get to do.
ADRC coordinates brain donations for the State of Florida Brain Bank program in 22 counties throughout the state of Florida. To learn more about the State of Florida Brain Bank program, please visit our Brain Bank page.
