Our Funding Sources

The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) has been providing dementia-specific programs in our community for almost three decades.  As a nonprofit agency, most of our services are free or low cost, and scholarships are available for those who are unable to pay.

ADRC receives a small amount of federal and state funding but most of our income is derived from grants, corporate sponsorships, fundraisers and through the generosity of individuals who support our mission.  Many of our families have provided for us in their will through bequests, annuities and other financial arrangements.

ADRC is not affiliated in any way with the national Alzheimer’s Association, nor do we receive funding from them in any capacity.

Can you imagine a nonprofit that has provided services for a population the size of the city of Ocala?

Over our 32-year history, with your help, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center has done just that, serving more than 56,000 Central Florida residents.  We’ve done it with little to no funding from local, state or federal agencies.

More than 19% of Florida residents are 65 or older.  That represents the highest percentage of seniors in any state.  Yet funding in Florida for programs that serve this population has actually decreased!  Yet, while funding drops, the number of people diagnosed with some form of dementia continues to rise.

Over the past decade or so, most nonprofits have had to learn to do more with less and ADRC has experienced the same burden.  The majority of our funding comes from our caregivers and families as well as supporters like you.

With your gift of $50, $100 or even $250, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center can serve more caregivers and families.  Can we count on your support?

As a local nonprofit 100% of your donation goes directly toward providing programs for caregivers and families in our community.  There’s no better return on your investment than that!

Because of you, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center is a community treasure for families and professionals who are caring for someone with dementia.  It is through supporters like you that we can continue to provide our critical programs to the community.
