How does ADRC help?

For over 30 years, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center (ADRC) has served as a Central Florida based grassroots nonprofit and community resource center dedicated to providing support and hope for families and individuals caring for a loved one with some form of dementia. ADRC empowers caregivers with the knowledge, support and programs to help them prepare for and cope with the challenges that lie ahead. Our organization offers a variety of peer support groups, counseling sessions, educational programs and wellness events to help caregivers in the central Florida with the day-to-day tasks of caring for their loved ones, as well as maintaining their own health. Please visit our Services pages to learn more.

Does ADRC offer counseling services?

ADRC offers educational Care Coaching sessions with family service staff, support groups facilitated by ADRC staff. This is not therapeutic counseling, but rather care coaching as families learn about the disease, cope with the challenges of caregiving, and face the many decisions that arise as the caregiving experience evolves. Coaching is vital in helping families understand the disease and in learning how to manage their caregiving role and provide the best possible care for their loved one.

Who is eligible to receive ADRC’s services?

ADRC only serves caregivers in Central Florida or out-of-state caregivers whose loved ones live in the area. Most of the services are free of charge. We strive to help everyone who contacts us, so if we don’t provide what you’re looking for, we will help you find someone who does.
